Hand over the daily lead chase

A lead chase handover is a written transfer of the daily lead follow-up to one named person, with a response standard and a 14-day test. Ivanka Menken uses it inside Letting-Go Mentoring, a 6-month 1:1 programme at AUD $1,500 per month ex GST. You map the lead flow, name the owner, write what closed means and list what you stop checking. Then the owner holds it for 14 days without override. In the example on this page, 100 to 150 leads a day route through the founder before the handover.

The Lead Chase Handover is a tool inside the programme, not a separate product.

THE TEST

14 days, no override.

An example, not a client result. The owner and standards are yours.

The lead inbox still runs through you

  1. 01You still check every lead yourself.
  2. 02Your sales team waits for you to chase.
  3. 03You cannot step away from the lead inbox.

It is 9pm. You are refreshing the lead inbox again, convinced that no one else will chase the 100 to 150 leads properly if you stop watching. The team is waiting for your next instruction.

A handover is not a job description; it is a 14-day test with a named owner

A job description says who is responsible. A handover proves it: one named owner, one response standard, and 14 days in which the founder does not override.

If a lead comes back, that is not a failure of the test. It is the next session's material: what the owner needs, what the standard missed, what the founder still checks.

A lead is not owned until someone other than the founder is responsible for the next contact.

Staying stuck means 100 to 150 leads a day still route through you.

Move the chase to one named owner

Lead Chase Handover puts the owner, the response standard, the review date and the founder's stop-doing list on one page, so the daily chase moves out of the founder's inbox for 14 days.

Lead Chase Handover · a framework by Ivanka Menken

What it is

It is a one-page handover, not a job description. It names the owner, defines the next contact, sets the review date and lists what the founder stops checking. The same page is held for 14 days without override.

What it replaces

It replaces the founder as the follow-up system: the inbox refresh, the reminder, the did-anyone-call-them message. Delegate lead follow up starts with a named owner.

It sits inside Letting-Go Mentoring, alongside the 12 fortnightly handovers. The handover is not a separate product and has no separate checkout.

  • 01Owner: one named person
  • 02Response standard: the next contact and its timing
  • 03Closed means: the next buyer decision
  • 04Review date: 14 days
  • 05Stop-doing list: what the founder stops checking

Map the lead flow, then name the owner

Ivanka maps the lead flow from enquiry to next contact. She asks: Who owns each lead? What does closed mean? What do you still check? What must be handed over first? They write the owner, the response standard, the review date and the stop-doing list. The owner holds it for 14 days without override. Before the next session, the founder brings the returned leads and the overrides.

01

The one thing

The lead chase and the named owner.

02

The numbers

Lead volume, response time, closed definition.

03

The story

Why no one else will chase it properly.

04

The commitment

Write the handover and hold it for 14 days.

Before the next session, the founder brings the returned leads and the overrides. The review is the handover, not the inbox.

A 14-day test you can repeat

By month 6, the handover is a habit, not a one-off holiday.

NOW

  • The founder is the follow-up system.
  • The team waits for instructions.
  • The lead inbox is checked at 9pm.
  • The handover is a conversation, not a test.

BY MONTH 6

  • A named lead-chase owner.
  • A response standard and a closed definition.
  • A 14-day handover record.
  • A shorter stop-doing list.

Ivanka Menken reviewing a founder's lead flow in Letting-Go Mentoring
The chase is a decision about ownership, not volume.

The numbers are read with you, not at you

Ivanka Menken built Letting-Go Mentoring for founders of $500K to $3M businesses who became the bottleneck. She reads the numbers with you and holds you to the decision you write down.

The Lead Chase Handover is one of the tools inside that work. It does not replace your sales team or your CRM. It makes the owner and the 14-day test visible.

“Ivanka has the unique ability to ask the challenging questions and be supportive at the same time.”

Business owner

Who fits, and who does not

It fits

  • You run a $500K to $3M business growing while cash is tight.
  • You are the follow-up system for every lead.
  • Your sales team waits for you to chase.
  • You will stop checking for 14 days.

It does not fit

  • You want open-ended coaching or a done-for-you fix.
  • You want more leads before a handover.
  • You will not name one owner.
  • You will not stop overriding the chase.

Questions about the lead chase handover

How does the Lead Chase Handover work inside Letting-Go Mentoring?

It is a one-page handover Ivanka Menken uses inside Letting-Go Mentoring. You name the owner, write the response standard and the definition of closed, set a 14-day review and list what you stop checking. Then the owner holds it without override. The programme runs 6 months at AUD $1,500 per month ex GST, and the tool has no separate checkout.

What if the sales team misses a lead?

Then it becomes the next session's material, not a reason to take the inbox back. In Letting-Go Mentoring, Ivanka Menken asks what the owner needed, what the standard missed and what you still checked. The 14-day test is where the handover is fixed. The programme runs 6 months at AUD $1,500 per month ex GST.

What does 14 days without override mean?

It means the founder does not chase the lead, reassign it or send the follow-up during the test. The owner holds the next contact for 14 days, and anything that comes back is written down for the next session. Ivanka Menken uses the 14 days inside Letting-Go Mentoring to prove the handover. The programme runs 6 months at AUD $1,500 per month ex GST.

What happens when a lead comes back to me?

You write it on the handover record: which lead, why it came back and what the owner needs. In Letting-Go Mentoring, Ivanka Menken uses that record to adjust the standard or the owner, not to take the inbox back. The next 14-day test starts from there. The programme runs 6 months at AUD $1,500 per month ex GST.
