Price Your Own Time-Bound Offer

You have sketched a 30-day VIP offer, two calls and message access, and the price changes every time someone asks. Ivanka Menken uses the Fortnight Loop inside 1:1 Mentoring, a 6-month programme at AUD $1,500 per month ex GST, to put the scope, one test price and a 30-day review on one page. You launch it as a test, not a promise, and read what happened at the review.

The Fortnight Loop is a tool inside the programme, not a separate product.

Thirty days, one page.

  1. THE OFFERtwo 30-minute calls and message access30 days
  2. THE PRICE BEFOREevery time someone askedA new number
  3. THE TEST PRICEwritten once, reviewed at day 30$650

THE RULE

“Write the scope, the price and the review date in one place. Then launch.”

Your offer and price will be your own.

An offer that is always nearly ready

  1. 01Your price changes with every person who asks.
  2. 02You copied a peer’s package and still feel unsure.
  3. 03The offer has been nearly ready for weeks.
  • Length: 30 days, more or less
  • Calls: two, maybe three
  • Message access: undecided
  • Price: different every time
  • Review date: none

An offer that existed only in conversations.

A short VIP offer that never launched

  1. 01

A price that moved every time

Someone in your small audience asks what it costs to work with you for a month. You give a number, then a different one to the next person, then you wonder whether to discount it. The offer is two calls and message access. You could launch it this week. Instead it sits in a notes file, and the price moves every time you say it out loud.

  2. 02

Copy a peer’s package, then discount it

In this case, the coach had a small audience and a clear idea: a 30-day VIP offer with two 30-minute video calls and message access. The obvious fix was to copy a peer’s package and discount it. The copy did not fit the coach’s work, the discount made the price feel less certain, and the launch slipped again. Every conversation produced a new number and no decision.

  3. 03

Scope, price and date never in one place

Ivanka noticed the coach had never written the scope, the price and the review date in one place. Each lived in a different conversation, so each could be renegotiated, mostly with the coach’s own doubt. There was no shortage of marketing ideas. There was a decision that had not been made, and a test that had never started because nothing had been written down to test.

A decision not made, not a tactic missing

The real issue was a decision that had not been made, not a missing marketing tactic. A price only becomes information once someone is asked to pay it, and that cannot happen while the number keeps moving.

The reframe: one written offer is a test of the price, not a promise for ever. Write the scope, set $650 as the test price, put a review date 30 days out, and let the people who asked answer instead of your doubt.

A price you keep changing is not a price yet. It is a question you have not asked.

Every week the offer stays in a notes file, there is no evidence about the price, and the next person who asks gets a different number again.

The Fortnight Loop, for one VIP offer

The Fortnight Loop is how 1:1 Mentoring turns a decision into a written commitment and checks it two weeks later. For a time-bound offer, the loop names the offer, sets one test price, writes the commitment and brings the result back to the next session.

The Fortnight Loop, for one VIP offerOn the left, three asks, each answered with a new number. Arrows lead to one offer page: scope, two calls and message access; length, 30 days with a start and end date; test price, $650, the same for everyone, in gold; review, day 30 at the next session. To the right, the 30-day test as a line from launch on day 0 through call 1 and call 2 to the review on day 30 in gold, with message access throughout. The review branches to three outcomes: keep, change or stop. Underneath, the four steps of the Fortnight Loop: the one thing, a price that moved; the numbers, two calls, 30 days, $650; the story, why copying felt safer; the commitment, one page and one review date.1THE PRICE, BEFOREFIRST ASKnew numberSECOND ASKnew numberTHIRD ASKnew number2THE OFFER PAGESCOPETwo calls and message accessLENGTH30 days, start and end datedTEST PRICE$650, the same for everyoneREVIEWDay 30, at the next session3THE 30-DAY TESTCall 1Call 2Day 0Day 30Message access throughout4REVIEWKEEPCHANGESTOP5THE FORTNIGHT LOOPTHE ONE THINGA moving priceTHE NUMBERS30 days, $650THE STORYCopying felt saferTHE COMMITMENTOne page, one dateTHE OFFER, AS WRITTENTwo 30-minute calls, message access,30 days, $650 for everyone.Review on day 30: keep, change, stop.

Fortnight Loop · a framework by Ivanka Menken

What it is

It is one page: what the offer includes, what it leaves out, the test price, the length, who it is for and the review date. Under it, the one next action, usually offering it to the people who already asked.

What it replaces

It replaces a price that changes with each conversation, a borrowed package with a discount on top and an offer that stays nearly ready.

It sits inside 1:1 Mentoring, next to the monthly scorecard. Each fortnightly session starts from the commitment you wrote last time, so the offer is checked against what people actually did. It is coaching, not a done-for-you pricing fix, and there is no separate checkout.

  • 01The length: 30 days, with a start and an end date
  • 02The calls: two 30-minute video calls
  • 03The access: message access between calls, with reply times
  • 04Not included: anything outside the 30 days
  • 05The test price: $650, the same for everyone
  • 06The review: day 30, with what sold and what was asked

One offer page, one review date

In the session, Ivanka named the decision: what this offer is and what it costs. She asked what the coach would include if the price were fixed, then what to leave out. Together they wrote one page with the scope, a $650 test price and a review 30 days away. The coach left with one decision, one next action, offering it to the people who had already asked, and a date to check it.

  • What does the offer include, exactly?
  • What does it leave out?
  • What price will you say the same way every time?
  • Who has already asked?
  • What will you look at on day 30?

Before the next session, the coach offered the page to the people who had asked, quoted the same price each time and noted every question and answer for the review.

An offer page instead of a moving number

By month 6, the offer has a written page, a price that was tested, and the next pricing decision runs through the same loop.

BEFORE

  • The price changed with every conversation.
  • A copied package with a discount on top.
  • The launch kept slipping.
  • No evidence about what people would pay.

BY MONTH 6

  • A one-page offer with a fixed scope.
  • A test price quoted the same way each time.
  • A review that decided keep, change or stop.
  • A repeatable process for the next offer.

The programme is the container: 12 fortnightly 60-minute sessions, a monthly scorecard, and reviews at month 3 and month 6.

In this case, the coach wrote a one-page offer with the scope, a $650 test price and a 30-day review, and ran it through the Fortnight Loop. At the review the coach had a clear decision about what to keep, what to change and what to stop, made from what people did rather than from doubt.

Write the offer before you change the price again

Ivanka Menken built 1:1 Mentoring for founders who keep carrying the same decisions. Every fortnight she helps you name one decision, write the commitment and check it two weeks later.

This fits if you sell your own time and your price moves with every conversation. It does not fit if you want someone to write your offer or set your price for you. The decision in front of you is one page. Write the scope, the test price and the review date before the next person asks.

“During our sessions Ivanka isn’t just talking theory. She is sharing her own lived experiences.”

Questions about pricing a VIP offer

How do I set a test price?

Pick a number you can say the same way to everyone for the length of the test, and write it on the offer page with the review date. A test price is a question, not a promise. Ivanka Menken helps you choose it inside 1:1 Mentoring, 6 months at AUD $1,500 per month ex GST, from what the offer includes and who has already asked.

What goes in the scope?

The length, the number and length of calls, how message access works, reply times and what is not included. In this case, it was two 30-minute calls and message access over 30 days. Ivanka Menken writes the scope with you inside 1:1 Mentoring, 6 months at AUD $1,500 per month ex GST, so the price has something fixed to stand on.

What if nobody buys at that price?

Then the review has evidence instead of doubt. You look at who you offered it to, what they asked and what they said, then decide whether to change the scope, the price or the audience. Ivanka Menken reads that with you inside 1:1 Mentoring, 6 months at AUD $1,500 per month ex GST, and the next test is written the same way.

What happens at the review?

On day 30 you list who was offered the page, who bought, what they asked and what the work took. Then you keep the offer, change one thing or stop it, and write the next commitment. Ivanka Menken runs that review inside 1:1 Mentoring, 6 months at AUD $1,500 per month ex GST, at your next fortnightly session.

Write the offer page first

If your price moves every time someone asks, start with 1:1 Mentoring. The Fortnight Loop is inside it, and the 20-minute intro call is where you can see whether the programme fits.

Not accounting, financial advice or a done-for-you offer.
