Send the Agreement While It Is Warm

The client has just said yes on the call, and you know the contract will take days to rebuild from an old file. Ivanka Menken uses the One-Link Contract workflow inside 1:1 Mentoring, a 6-month programme at AUD $1,500 per month ex GST, to map what happens after a verbal yes: one template, one link, fields that fill themselves, a trigger phrase and a fallback. In this case, the agreement went out during the call in about 10 seconds.

The One-Link Contract is a tool inside the programme, not a separate product.

A yes that cools before the signature

  1. 01Clients say yes on the call, then go quiet before signing.
  2. 02Every contract starts from an old file.
  3. 03You chase signatures after the energy has gone.
  • Contract: rebuilt from the last client’s file
  • Fields: typed by hand
  • Send: a separate email, days later
  • Signature: chased
  • Fallback if the link fails: none

Closing on calls, signing days later

  1. 01

A yes that cooled before the signature

The client says yes. You both feel it. You promise to send the agreement over and close the call. Then the old file needs new names, new dates, a new scope and an email to go with it, and it is Thursday before it goes out. By then the client is busy, the excitement has faded and you are chasing a signature you already had in spirit.

  2. 02

A blank template on the desktop

In this case, the founder of a small marketing studio still sold every project personally and closed most of them on calls. Afterwards came the slow part: rebuilding a contract from an old file. The obvious fix was a blank template saved on the desktop. It helped a little, but every field still had to be typed and a separate email written, so the agreement still went out days after the yes.

  3. 03

The leak was in the handoff

Ivanka noticed the delay was not legal review and not a weak close. It sat in the handoff between a verbal yes and a populated agreement, a sequence nobody had ever written down. Each step was small. Together they added days, and every day gave the client time to cool. The founder was closing well and then losing the momentum in admin.

A broken send sequence, not a weak close

The real problem was a broken send sequence, not a weak close. The founder had been working on sales conversations when the leak was in the minutes after the conversation ended.

The reframe: the agreement should arrive while the yes is still in the room. One link per template, fields that fill themselves and a phrase that triggers the send turn the handoff into about 10 seconds.

The close is not finished when the client says yes. It is finished when the agreement is in their inbox.

Every day between the yes and the agreement gives the client time to cool, and turns the founder into a debt collector for a decision already made.

The One-Link Contract, for one send sequence

The One-Link Contract is a workflow Ivanka uses inside 1:1 Mentoring to map the handoff after a verbal yes and remove the steps that delay the agreement. It runs on the Fortnight Loop: write the sequence, use it on the next close, review what happened.

The One-Link Contract, from a verbal yes to a sent agreementTwo timelines. The old handoff in grey: yes on the call, find the old file, retype the fields, write an email, chase the signature, spanning days while the client cools. The send sequence in gold: template, saved link, fields fill, trigger phrase, sent on the call, spanning about 10 seconds during the call. A fallback sits under the sequence: a plain email with the link if it fails. A note underneath says it is not legal advice; the wording of the agreement stays with the founder and their adviser.THE MINUTES AFTER A YES1THE OLD HANDOFFYes on the callFind the old fileRetype the fieldsWrite an emailChase the signatureDays2THE SEND SEQUENCETemplateSaved linkFields fillTrigger phraseSent on the call3About 10 seconds4Fallback: a plain email with the linkNot legal advice. One-Link Contract · a framework by Ivanka Menken

What it is

It is a one-page send sequence in five lines: the template, the link, the fields that fill themselves, the trigger phrase on the call and the fallback if the link fails. It works with whatever contract tool you already use.

What it replaces

It replaces an old client file renamed and retyped, a blank template on the desktop and a signature chased after the energy has gone.

It sits inside 1:1 Mentoring, next to the monthly scorecard. It is coaching on your sales process, not legal advice: Ivanka does not draft or review contracts, and the wording of your agreement stays with you and your adviser. There is no separate checkout.

  • 01The template: one per type of work you sell
  • 02The link: one saved link per template
  • 03The fields: client name, scope and price, filled from the call notes
  • 04The trigger: one phrase on the call before you send
  • 05The fallback: a plain email with the link if it fails
  • 06The time: about 10 seconds, during the call

One sequence, used on the next close

In the session, Ivanka walked the founder through the last close minute by minute, from the yes to the signature. Every step that waited for the founder went on a list. Together they wrote the send sequence: one template, one saved link, the fields that fill from the call notes, a trigger phrase and a fallback. The founder agreed to send the agreement before the next call ended.

THE SEND SEQUENCE, AS WRITTEN

Trigger

Fallback

At the next fortnight, with the time to signature

Before the next session, the founder set up one link per template, used it on the next close and noted how long the agreement took to come back signed.

Agreements sent while the yes is warm

By month 6, every close follows a written send sequence, signatures arrive sooner, and the next leak in the sales process gets the same treatment.

In this case, the founder set up one auto-populating contract link per template and sent the agreement during the call in about 10 seconds. The founder stopped chasing signatures after the energy had gone, and the time between a yes and a signed agreement became something to measure rather than dread.

Fix the minutes after the yes

Ivanka Menken built 1:1 Mentoring for founders of $500K to $3M businesses who keep carrying the same decisions. Every fortnight she helps you name one decision, write the commitment and check it two weeks later.

This fits if you close on calls and lose days before the agreement goes out. It does not fit if you want contract wording or legal advice. The decision in front of you is one send sequence. Write the template, the link, the fields, the trigger and the fallback before your next sales call.

“During our sessions Ivanka isn’t just talking theory. She is sharing her own lived experiences.”

Questions about sending the agreement on the call

What goes in the send sequence?

Five lines: the template, the saved link, the fields that fill themselves, the trigger phrase on the call and the fallback if the link fails. In this case, that brought the send down to about 10 seconds. Ivanka Menken maps it with you from your last real close inside 1:1 Mentoring, 6 months at AUD $1,500 per month ex GST.

Do I need new software?

Usually not. Most contract and proposal tools you already pay for can save a template with fields and share it as a link. The work is deciding the sequence, not buying a tool. Ivanka Menken helps you write that sequence inside 1:1 Mentoring, 6 months at AUD $1,500 per month ex GST, using whatever you already have.

Is this legal advice?

No. Ivanka Menken does not draft, review or advise on contracts. The wording of your agreement stays with you and your legal adviser. Inside 1:1 Mentoring, 6 months at AUD $1,500 per month ex GST, the work is on the sales process: the steps between a verbal yes and an agreement in the client’s inbox.

What if the client wants changes?

Send the link anyway, during the call, and handle changes as a reply to an agreement already in front of them. A requested change is a conversation about something real, which beats silence while you rebuild a file. Ivanka Menken reviews how changes came back inside 1:1 Mentoring, 6 months at AUD $1,500 per month ex GST.

Send it before the call ends

If clients say yes on the call and sign days later, start with 1:1 Mentoring. The One-Link Contract is inside it, and the 20-minute intro call is where you can see whether the programme fits.

Not legal advice, contract drafting or a done-for-you sales system.
